Burlington Northern Railroad U30CB 4500 at Guernsey, Wyoming on October 1, 1981, Kodachrome by Jim Altman, Chuck Zeiler collection. Number 4500 was originally U30C 5336. It was wrecked in Cassa, Wyoming in July 1981. It was rebuilt at West Burlington, Iowa and originally numbered 800B, though it never wore that number. It was renumbered 4500 and was active until retired on February 11, 1987, cannibalized for parts at West Burlington on May 4, 1987, and sold to Precision National Corporation on November 11, 1987. |
