B&M S4M 1274 |
Description: |
Boston & Maine Railroad S4M 1274 at South Portland, Maine on an unknown day in May 1980, Ektachrome by Chuck Zeiler. Number 1274 was built by Alco in September 1950 as model S3 1174 (c/n 78319). It suffered fire damage and was rebuilt to a model S4 in November 1957 and renumber 1274. It appears that 1274 went to the University of Minnesota and was lettered FW1 for Foster Wheeler, the contract operator of the coal plant. |
