PRR 9800, EF-15A, 1962 |
Description: |
Oil Power. Here is a duplicate 35mm color slide by an unidentified photographer that was taken near Tyrone, Pennsylvania, in January of 1962. Shown here (L to R) are Pennsylvania Railroad engine #9800 and an "EF" Class B-unit whose number is not recorded. Both were built by GM-EMD and rated at 1,500 horsepower each. #9800 was constructed in March of 1951. In this context, they're "running light" on their way to Altoona in the late afternoon hours of a frigid Winter's day. |
