Title:
CNW 4-6-2 #1666 - Chicago & North Western
Description:
Long before an RSD5 unit carried the number 1666 for the CNW, this 1923 Alco-Brooks built 4-6-2 Pacific had that honor. An unknown photographer caught it at Keeler Avenue in Midlothian, IL. Original specs - serial #63891, class E-late, 75" drivers, 200 psi boiler pressure, 25x28" cylinders, engine weight of 276,000 lb, tractive effort of 39,667 lb. The loco was rebuilt as a class E-S in March of 1940. It stayed on the roster to at least 10/1/1952. Disposition unknown. unknown photographer
