MILW 92         
This massive, once mighty 2-6-6-2 Mogul Mallet type steam locomotive was found sitting in the scrap line at the Tacoma, WA, yard awaiting the scrapper's torch after being retired in April of 1949. Built by Alco-Schenectady in October of 1912, it passed through several renumberings along the way. The loco was first renumbered in 1912 to CMStP #9606, then CMStP&P #9606 in 1927 and finally CMStP&P #92 in 1938. The loco was finally retired and scrapped in April of 1949 after nearly 37 years of service. Specs - 57" drivers, 200 psi boiler pressure, 23.5x30" high pressure cylinders, 37x30" low pressure cylinders, engine wt of 396,000 lb and tractive effort of 70,418 lb.
