Built by Alco-Schenectady in September of 1909, Western Pacific 2-8-0 Consolidation #55 served faithfully for nearly 43 years before being retired in 11/1951 and sold for scrap in 1/1952 to the W.W. Johnson Compnay of Stockton, CA. Specs - 57" drivers, 200 psi boiler pressure, 22x30" cylinders, engine wt of 203,000 lb, tractive effort of 43,305 lb. The photo was taken by Davis. |
