NYC Business Car #3, "Portland"
When the vestibule gate is closed, this lighted drumhead would be visible on this business car. This one touts the "Empire State Express" train and would have been used when the car was in the train when it traveled from New York City to Buffalo.

Tom Beckett General Cool shot, always good to see a drumhead. The Empier State Express, if I recall, had the unfortunate timing to have its first run on Dec 7 1941, a day that lives in infamy. Needless to say, the first trip was slightly overshadowed by other events!! 5/19/2022 4:59:39 AM
