MNL GP10 16
This Louisiana & Delta GP10 was parked at the railroad’s headquarters in New Iberia, Louisiana still wearing the paint scheme and number of its previous owner, the Mountain Laurel Railroad (MNL). The unit was originally Illinois Central GP9 9099, built in March 1955. It was rebuilt by the Illinois Central Gulf into GP10 8446 in March 1974, then sold as MNL 16 in February 1992. After Genesee & Wyoming Industries bought the MNL it was transferred to the L&D in January 1997, where it operated as MNL 16 for a while, before being renumbered L&D 1853.
