| Union Pacific GP60 2023 was in local service on a former Texas & Pacific branch line at Brusly, Louisiana - not too far from Baton Rouge. The locomotive had been built in Canada in April 1991 as Southern Pacific 9724, was renumbered Union Pacific 5823 in June 1998 and became UP 2023 in November 2002 so its former number could be assigned to a new GE unit. |
