PRR 6779, M-1B, 1953         
Huntingdon. Here is a duplicate 35mm color slide of a photo by Fred Kern that was taken near Huntingdon, Pennsylvania, on 30 August 1953. Shown here is Pennsylvania Railroad engine #6779, an M-1B (4-8-2) "Mountain" built by the Lima Locomotive Works as an M-1A in March of 1930, rebuilt in Juniata as an M-1B in December of 1948, and retired in September of 1959 after 29 years of faithful service.
