SEPTA's “Great Valley Flyer” to Thorndale wastes no time overtaking the Paoli local at Bryn Mayr during the height of the evening rush on Amtrak’s Harrisburg Line. Both trains are powered by a pair of sequentially-numbered AEM7s living on borrowed time. These two tired motors are staring down the barrel of retirement as SEPTA prepares to phase in the newly delivered ACS-64s from Siemens. It appears this summer will be the last for SEPTA's toasters. |
