PRR 6789, M-1A, 1946
Huntingdon. Here is a duplicate 35mm color slide of a photo by Bill Price that was taken at the Passenger Station in Huntingdon, Pennsylvania, on 7 October 1946. Shown here is Pennsylvania Railroad engine #6789, an M-1A (4-8-2) "Mountain" built by the Lima Locomotive Works during April of 1930 and retired in January of 1954 after 24 years of faithful service. In this context, it's pulling a mixed-cargo freight train through the Station on its way from Enola to Altoona and points West.
