UP 1943
Union Pacific SD70ACe 1943, the railroads newest specially-painted locomotive, hustles through Cabazon, California, just minutes after the sun dropped behind the San Jacinto Mountains on November 18, 2017. The train was delayed roughly a half-hour due to some cretins not only placing debris on the tracks near Indio, but they were also seen pointing a rifle at a passing freight - so all rail traffic was halted until the area was deemed safe again. This six-car passenger special originated in Council Bluffs IA and was heading to Oakland CA. UP 1943 is painted to commorate United States Armed Forces, with the first third honoring the Air Force, the middle third the Coast Guard and Navy, and the final third painted in camoflage for the Army and Marines.
