Hazy. Here is an original telephoto view that I took of Penn Central Railroad trains in Altoona, Pennsylvania, during July of 1973. Shown here (R to L) are PC engine #2638 and another unit whose number is not recorded. #2638 is a U-25B built by General Electric in 1965 and rated at 2,500 horsepower; its original PRR number was "2538." They are about to pass under the 24th Street Bridge with a merchandise freight train on their way through Altoona to Enola and points East. |
