NYOW 2-8-0C #204 - New York, Ontario & Western  Contributor's Pick!       
Nice example of a Cooke Locomotive Works 2-8-0 camelback built just as Cooke & seven other locomotive plants merged to form the American Locomotive Company (ALCO). Specs -class P, 55" drivers, 200 psi boiler pressure, 21x32" cylinders, engine weight of 198,130 lb, tractive effort of 43,619 lb. This locomotive was intended for pusher service on coal trains, according to George W. West, Superintendent of Motive Power, who designed it. All in the class remained in service until the late 1940's. Unknown photographer.
