Wye Switches. Here is the third of three successive time exposures that I took at the Wye Switches in Duncansville, Pennsylvania, on 18 September 1965. Implied here (R to L) are Pennsylvania Railroad engines #6000 and #6009. Both are EF-25A's built by GM-EMD and rated at 2,500 horsepower each. #6000 was built in February of 1965, but #6009 was built in March of 1965. They're serving as tail-end pushers on an 84-car freight train from Altoona proceeding up the New Portage Branch line via the Muleshoe Curve to Gallitzin and points West. The N-8 cabin car is #478081. Duncansville's Fifth Street is visible in the center, while Second Avenue is at the left. |
