Slope to Works. Here is an original photo that I took in Altoona, Pennsylvania, on 6 June 1965. Shown here is Pennsylvania Railroad engine #9359, an ES-12M built by GM-EMD in June of 1950 and rated at 1,200 horsepower. It's pulling a single refurbished passenger coach past WORKS Tower to the Altoona Station, where the latter will soon be coupled onto a waiting passenger train. Partially visible above them is the new girder-style 4th Street Footbridge. (#38 of 44) |
