| Slope to Works. Here is an original photo that I took in Altoona, Pennsylvania, on 6 June 1965. Shown here are the roof of WORKS Tower in the foreground, the east- and westbound "passenger" tracks at the left, two westbound freight trains ready for dispatch, and two idling yard-service locomotives on the right. Discernable in the distance is the 8th Street Bridge in Juniata. From what I understand, most of this has vanished. (#37 of 44) |
