| Slope to Works. Here is an original photo that I took in Altoona, Pennsylvania, on 6 June 1965. Shown here (R to L) is Pennsylvania Railroad engine #5708 and two more units whose road numbers are not visible. All are EF-22's built by GM-EMD and rated at 2,250 horsepower each. #5708 was constructed in October in 1952. They're pulling a westbound mail & express train under the 7th Street Bridge on its way up the East Slope of the Allegheny Mountains to Pittsburgh. (#27 of 44) |
