PRR Passenger Station, 1965
Slope to Works. Here is an original photo that I took in Altoona, Pennsylvania, on 6 June 1965. Prominent here is the tail-end a westbound passenger train that has stopped at the Altoona Station. Note the short train and the small number of folks on the tarmac. In olden times, the trains were much longer, and the platform was much more crowded and covered by the Civil War-era trainshed. Also visible are two of the PRR's 12th Street Shops buildings at the left, the wrought-iron 12th Street Footbridge crossing over the tracks, and the Altoona Passenger Station a little further up on the right.
