| Originally delivered to the BC Rail (British Columbia Railway) in April of 1990 by GE, this 6 axle, 4000hp Dash 8-40CM unit was one of only 26 units built for BC Rail and 84 units total built for Canadian railways in general. According to Wikipedia, all of these units built by GE ride on trucks taken from retired Alco-Montreal Locomotive Works locos. The portholes are reminiscent of the EMD E units of long ago. |
