SP 7136,OCTOBER 1993.  Contributor's Pick!
Back in the Fall of 1993,Southern Pacific ran a ''Trooper Train'' across the former Rio Grande in Utah County. SP took local police and Utah Highway Patrol Troopers on a tour of area grade crossings to educate them on how motorists continually dodge trains at crossings. Here,Stopped at Provo,Southern Pacific GP40M-2 No.7136 all shined up and ''purty'' along with a companion GP60 take a break in between runs at the Provo Amtrak Station. A scene that will never be repeated.
