L&N SW9 2290
A couple of gentlemen are conversing in front of L&N SW9 2290 somewhere in Nashville, Tennessee on an unknown day in September 1980, Kodachrome by Chuck Zeiler. I was on a business trip and shot this while passing by, and did not record the location properly. Please see Comment below for location information, thanks Reed.

Reed Reding General That's at Kanye Ave. yard in Nashville. The tower is just to the left of the men talking in front of the 2290. Union Station is out of sight to the right of the photo. The building to the left of the Family Lines cabooses has been razed and there is a parking lot there now. I would say this is on the Demonbreun St. overpass, with Broadway being the one in the middle and the Church St. one being the furthest in the distance. 8/21/2011 4:05:33 PM

Paul Zuzich General Awesome photo! This spot has changed grestly in the last 32 years. The tracks going off to the right are all that is still the same today. 10/11/2012 11:35:24 AM
Howard Russell General My DAD retired running this engine in the Guthrie yards in 1983. I have the brake handle and reverse handle he took when he stepped down. rode on this engine many times and even handled the throttle a few times 7/3/2020 9:11:39 AM
