| To celebrate the sesquicentennial of the Delaware & Hudson Railroad, Reading 2102 was temporarily modified (complete with smoke deflectors and recessed headlight) to more closely resemble one of D and H's 4-8-4s. Original #2102 RDG Shops, 1945, rebuilt from 2-8-0's Specs - 70" drivers, impressive 240 psi boiler pressure, 27x32" cylinders, engine weight of 441,300 lb, tractive effort of 68,000 lb. #2102 along with sisters 2100. 2101 and 2124 have survived. #2102 is undergoing a rebuilt and restoration slated to be done by the end of 2020. |
