| BNSF 7918 is the DPU on 10K at South Plainfield, NJ 11/10/2024. The box car ahead, TOBX 889252 is the car I believe pegged the wheel impact detector at Middlesex, NJ. I know the dispatcher gave the car number as a TOBX and that was the only one I saw in the train. I didnt hear anything when the car passed so I wonder if the car was "hunting". That is lateral motion generated when a cars wheel sets need to be contoured and the say shimmys from side to side because the wheels are not properly contoured so they stay at the center of the rail head. |
