ICG SD40 6005, Paducah, Kentucky, June 25, 1986, photo by Chuck Zeiler. Pretty clean paint, I'm going to suggest that it had been shopped recently. Built as IC 6005 in December 1967 (c/n 33249) on EMD Order 5732, it became ICG 6005, was rebuilt into SD40-2R in June 1996 becoming IC 6005 again, retired on March 11, 2009, declared surplus, and became ASDX 6005. As I recall, this is new power for a coal train sitting on the track to the right. These locomotives will replace several GP10's that have already been cut off the coal train and are on a siding out of the frame in the lower left about a half mile. |
