AMTK 498
This locomotive was built as Pennsylvania Railroad 5809 and was subsequently renumbered Penn Central 4309 before becoming Amtrak 315. It received a Head End Power generator at Altoona in September 1974 and was renumbered 498 in November 1975, when all of the remaining E-units were put into the 400-series. In 1983 it was traded to Conrail for a pair of SW8's and became CR 4020. When CR was broken up, it was assigned Norfolk Southern 1000; but was sold and regained its original number as Juniata Terminal 5809.
