DW 70 |
Description: |
Got down to Dollywood on Saturday without seeing a single train. We got down to Sevierville around 5 P.M. getting stuck in a gigantic traffic jam as we always seem to do. That night we met our cousins and ate at Denny's. So after that we skip right to Sunday at Dollywood. Enjoyed our time there, and I was glad to see that they were using theyre other steam locomotive, No. 70. I haven never caught this one yet. I was told by a local railfan that DW 192 would be back pulling the short excursions in the late summer. |

After a couple of hours, my aunt and I returned to Dollywood to do some videotaping of the train, along with taking a couple more photos. This is the first time that I have filmed the Dollywood Express. First we catch it crossing the last trestle that it crosses before leaving the park. A really backlit shot, but I like it. |

Now back at the station, DW 70 lets off some more steam before heading back to the shops and resting over the night before waking up around 8:00 AM to take more amusement park visitors up the Smokies. We all enjoyed our day at Dollywood. Getting to eat good food during the Festival of Nations and photographing several ducks wsa quite fun XD. After leaving Dollywood, my aunt, brother, grandma and I would eat with our cousins at Mels Diner, and then my brother and I would join our cousins in a game of mini golf and a go-kart race. |
