Description:  We had been planning a trip to chemut for about week, and when we get there, theres MoW crews all over the line, great for the line, but not for the fans. Seen here are the new trilights faced outward awaiting to replace the the ex-SP Searchlights and Cantilever Bridge. Also SP C-50-9 caboose 4702 has been pulled out off the yard.

Title:  Off the Oregon Trunk, and on to the Cascade Sub
Description:  Our only train of the day due to many MoW crews all over the Cascade Sub, heads south on the 75 miles of trackage rights BNSF has on the UP's Cascade Sub, until it diverges back on to its own Gateway Sub. Note that this far south on the ex-SP Brooklyn-Cascade Sub, the searchlights dont have their trilight replacements set up yet, unlike up north on the line where searchlights are either removed, or awaiting replacement. These will probably last a bit longer than the others.

Description:  If you look closely, you can see that this unit was born as a GECX locomotive painted in armour yellow, then presumably transfered to UP. Note the visible GECX and the number on the side with the 4 being patched over with a 7.

Description:  I usually take a round trip on the Amtrak Cascades once a month to visit and railfan with my brother in Vancouver, WA. This time, on my return trip #509, the last Southbounder of the night, i was very delighted to find that once i got on board, from a text message from my brother after we had just started rolling, that our power (shoving in reverse) was none other then AMTK 184 the phase IV anniversary locomotive.

Description:  In late 2011, CBR 1203 lead a short string of empty centerbeam cars out of Eugene yard and out over the Coos Bay line, it was the first revenue train over the line since 2007 when CORP shocked its customers and the community by embargoing the line without any notice. CBRs roster would eventually expand to its current roster of 5 locomotives with the arrival of 4 GP38s.
