Midstate Recovery/Murphy Road Recycling |
Description: |
A sad sign of the brutal January that pummeled the Northeast, what's left of the Midstate Recovery/Murphy Road Recycling building sits under gloomy skies. The company was an important customer for Providence & Worcester train CT-1, and was the only customer left on the Portland side of the Connecticut River. |

PW 2007 |
Description: |
A rare visitor to the area, 2007 leads B unit 3005 across the William Road crossing. Providence & Worcester's EMDs usually stick around the railroad's Massachusetts and Rhode Island operations. To provide an even greater surprise, sister unit 2006 was trailing on today's train. |

Williams Farm |
Description: |
CT-1 disturbs the peace at the Williams Farm along East Center Street on a dreary and grey day before Thanksgiving. 2006 is a rare visitor to the area; Providence & Worcester's GP38s tend to stay toward the railroad's Massachusetts and Rhode Island operations. Even more rare was the fact that sister unit 2007 was on the other end of today's train. |

Changed Forever |
Description: |
The view at the East Center Street crossing has been changed forever with the demolition of the building which had sat on the north side of the road. The building was formerly owned by Peter Frescina Building Contractors. Before that, it was likely a owned by a grain distributor. The first section of today's CT-1 eases downgrade past the demolition site with CEFX 3173 and 3164 in charge of 39 loads of stone on the first full day of fall. |

CT-1 |
Description: |
CT-1 eases across the Connecticut River swing bridge with 5 loads from Red Technologies. The ancient bridge sat largely unused for the last four and a half years after the last customer in Portland, Murphy Road Recycling, had their building collapse under the weight of ice and snow in early 2011. This new traffic source is a welcome addition to the "Middletown Cluster." |
