Illinois Central in the lash-up
Title:  Illinois Central in the lash-up
Description:  While chasing the eastbound train K408 (led by CITX 2792), we came across this train with an IC unit in the lash-up! We were pretty happy to see that here! I've got a close-up view of the IC unit in my Roster Shots album. We caught the CN unit in a consist in Liverpool, NY last week. Considering the power line-up in this train, it's safe to say that they'll be heading for the "North Country" when traffic on the mainline clears up.

Description:  My 7:00PM plans for tonight were cancelled, so at 4:40 this afternoon I had a little time on my hands. I pulled off of Herman Rd. between CP300 and CP298 and ten minutes later this westbound freight came through! It seems that lately I have better luck catching foreign power when I don't have my scanner with me!

Description:  This eastbound freight is practically right on the heels of another eastbound mixed that came through on the same track (track 2) about 5 or 10 minutes ago! And between these two eastbound trains, we saw a westbound freight on track 2 led by CN units 5743 and 5535.

Description:  This is the last shot of the day for me, what a surprise! I was'nt far away when I heard the defect detector read: "total axle count 1, 4; train speed 2, 2; over". In other words, 14 axles at a speed of 22 m.p.h. I made it to Laird Rd. just in time! They're westbound on track 2 near the old New York Central mile marker 304.
